Volunteer Opportunities
We welcome parents/carers and students to volunteer at Sudbury Primary School to support our pupils. Volunteering at school is a rewarding experience and benefits the whole school community.
People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons:
- For some it offers opportunities to give something back to the community.
- For others it may provide an opportunity to develop new skills.
- For the vast majority it is a requirement of a course.
The work carried out by volunteers could come in the form of helping in the classroom, during an after school club, at a fundraising event or during an educational visit.
Classroom assistant volunteers may help with any of the following:
- Supporting the teacher to prepare for lessons
- Listening to children read
- Telling the children stories or reading to them
- Supporting individual pupils
- Supporting groups of children in all curriculum areas
For the safety of all children, volunteer helpers will be subject to a DBS check.
